OUR TROOPS GATHERED FOR THIS BLACK POWDER SHOOT TO BRING THE NEW YEAR IN WITH A BANG !  EVERYONE ENJOYED A SAFE FUN TIME FIRING A WIDE VARIETY OF CIVIL WAR ERA FIREARMS. PICTURED ABOVE ARE CAMP MEMBERS GATHERED AROUND "SOUTHERN THUNDER"
3-24-2010 Colonel Cleaver's Rotary Club Presentation, Rusk, Texas
WE WERE VERY WELL REPRESENTED BY COLONEL SHELLEY CLEAVER WHO GAVE  A VERY IMPRESSIVE PROGRAM AND PRESENTATION ON OUR COUNTY'S CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE SOUTHERN WAR EFFORT DURING THE WAR OF NORTHERN AGGRESSION. I RECIEVED MANY POSITIVE COMPLIMENTS FROM THE FOLKS THAT ATTENDED AND I AM VERY PROUD OF SHELLEY AND ALL OF THE OUTSTANDING WORK THAT HE PUTS INTO OUR CAMP.  
4-10-2010 Annual Gallatin Gopher Festival, Gallatin, Texas
OUR CAMP RIFLE SQUAD FIRED THE OPENING VOLLEY TO START THE FESTIVAL AND SEVERAL MORE THRU OUT THE DAY.  WE HAD OUR CAMP INFO / RECRUITMENT BOOTH SET UP  WHERE WE HAD A VERY SUCCESFULL DAY OF PASSING OUT EDUCATIONAL LITERATURE  ON OUR CAMP AND THE SCV TO THE VERY INTERESTED CROWD AND WE RECRUITED SEVERAL MORE MEMBERS AND SOUTHERN BELLES TO BOLSTER OUR CAMP RANKS AND TO HELP OUR CAUSE OF EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ON LOCAL HISTORY.
4-17-2010 Confederate History Month Black Powder Shoot, Rusk, Texas
WE ALL GATHERED ON THIS DATE TO FIRE A WIDE VARIETY OF CIVIL WAR ERA FIREARMS THAT OUR ANCESTORS USED DURING THE DEFENSE OF DIXIE DURING THE WAR OF NORTHERN AGGRESSION. MANY DIFFERENT CAP AND BALL REVOLVERS, PERCUSSION RIFLES, CARBINES AND SHOTGUNS WERE USED AND EVERYONE HAD A SAFE FUN TIME PUNCHING PAPER AND RINGING THE METAL TARGETS ON OUR SAFE SECURE FIRING RANGE. GOOD SHOOTIN' BOYS ! OUR ANCESTORS WOULD BE PROUD !
5-29-2010 Fair On The Square, Rusk, Texas
WE  ENJOYED A VERY SUCCESFULL OUTTING AT THIS ANNUAL EVENT. WE FIRED A RIFLE VOLLEY TO OPEN THE FAIR AND HAD A VERY STEADY FLOW OF VERY INTERESTED FOLKS POUR THRU OUR BOOTH AT OUR CONFEDERATE STATUE ALL DAY LONG WHERE WE PASSED OUT A LOT OF INFO ON OUR CAMP, THE SCV AND ON OUR RICH HISTORY HERE IN OUR COUNTY.
5-31-2010 Annual Memorial Day Ceremony, Rusk, Texas
OUR CAMP HAD ANOTHER VERY SUCCESSFULL OUTTING AT OUR CONFEDERATE STATUE WHERE WE GATHERED TO HONOR OUR CONFEDERATE ANCESTORS ON MEMORIAL DAY. WE ALSO ASSISTED THE RUSK V.F.W. IN PAYING TRIBUTE TO ALL VETERANS FROM OUR COUNTY WHO SERVED IN ALL WARS AND CONFLICTS BY FIRING A VOLLEY IN THEIR HONOR AS WELL.  A LARGE CROWD OF VERY APPRECIATIVE FOLKS THANKED US FOR OUR TIME AND EFFORT. GREAT JOB MEN ! WE REALLY REPRESENTED OUR CAMP, THE SCV AND MAINLY OUR ANCESTORS WELL !
7-3-2010 Annual 4th Of July Parade, Rusk, Texas
AGAIN OUR HARD WORKING DEDICATED CAMP WAS INVITED BY THE RUSK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO FIRE AN HONORARY RIFLE VOLEY AT THE ANNUAL FOURTH OF JULY PARADE IN RUSK. THIS WAS GREAT POSITIVE EXPOSURE FOR OUR CAMP AND THE SCV IN FRONT OF A VERY LARGE CROWD IN THE PUBLIC ARENA.
10-2-2010 Annual Pioneer Festival, Rusk, Texas
OUR CAMP WAS ONCE AGAIN INVITED TO FIRE A RIFLE VOLLEY TO OFFICIALY KICK OFF THIS ANNUAL EVENT. WE HAD AN OUTSTANDING DAY OF EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ON OUR RICH CONFEDERATE  HISTORY AND HERITAGE IN CHEROKEE COUNTY AND ALSO RECRUITED SEVERAL NEW MEMBERS. AT LEFT IS OUR RIFLE SQUAD AND TWO OF OUR BELLES ALEX AND KATY AT BOOTH.
11-11-2010 Veterans Day Ceremony, Rusk, Texas
WE WERE ONCE AGAIN INVITED BY THE RUSK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO PARTICIPATE IN HONORING OUR CHEROKEE COUNTY VETERANS. WE FIRED A RIFLE VOLLEY TO ASSIST THE V.F.W. AND THEN PROCEEDED TO THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE COURTHOUSE SQUARE TO HOLD OUR CEREMONY AT OUR CONFEDERATE STATUE IN HONOR OF OUR BOYS WHO PROUDLY WORE THE GRAY FOR TEXAS AND FOR DIXIE !
12-5-2010 Camp Christmas Party, Rusk, Texas
WE WERE ONCE AGAIN BLESSED WITH A LARGE TURNOUT OF OVER 50 TROOPS AND BELLES ATTENDING OUR ANNUAL CAMP CHRISTMAS PARTY TO CELEBRATE ANOTHER VERY SUCCESSFULL YEAR PROMOTING OUR HERITAGE IN OUR COUNTY. LEFT TO RIGHT: LT. COM. JIM PERRY, 2ND. LT. COM. SHELLEY CLEAVER, COMMANDER KENNETH MCCLURE, 3RD. LT. COM. WILLIAM BLANKINSHIP AND COLOR SGT. RONNIE BLACKSTOCK WITH THEIR AWARDS.
9-11-2010 1st Annual Iron Horse Festival, Maydelle, Texas
A LARGE CROWD WAS ON HAND FOR THIS FIRST TIME EVENT IN MAYDELLE. OUR CAMP HAD A FUN TIME EDUCATING THE LOCAL FOLKS ON CONFEDERATE VETERANS BURIED IN THE MAYDELLE AREA. WE ALSO ENJOYED GREAT SUCCESS AT OUR BOOTH PASSING OUT INFO ON OUR CAMP AND THE SCV. PICTURED IS LT. COM. PERRY, SGT AT ARMS DEAN AND PRIVATE GIRAULT.
